I just started this blog. Lately I have been practicing my typing skills and I thought this would be a great place to share my thoughts as well as work on my typing.
So, I'm getting excited. I have only three weeks to go before I start the DPT program at LLU. First up, I'll be in the cadaver lab pretty much all day for gross anatomy. On Fridays I have tests. This lasts for seven weeks then I start the remainder of the summer quarter which is manual muscle testing, kinesiology, and christian perspectives on death and dying. I already know who is going to be some of my teachers. I'll have Dr. Forrester for anatomy, B. Bradley kinesiology and MMT, D. L. Aveling for Christian Perspectives on death and dying, plus few others I don't know for sure. I am nervous because each student has to get an 85% in gross anatomy to continue in the program. It was a long and pretty difficult process to get into PT school. With the economy how it is right now and with more people going going back to school, made acceptance much more competitive. I was one who went back to school after only a couple of years of teaching. I had to take 12 prereqs before I could even think about getting in. I heard that this year, the DPT program had over 800 applicants and only had 72 spots for students. I knew this early so I told myself straight away that I would need to get straight A's in all my prereqs. Which I did. But It was hard getting the classes. Community colleges are packed right now and have no money. They are having to cut classes and this summer I heard Crafton Hills ins't even having a summer session. Nevertheless, I was accepted and start in 3 weeks. so i begin a new chapter in my life, And like anyone starting a new chapter. I am excited!
